PROCUREMENT POLICY OF AB KAUNO GRŪDAI
1. Basis for purchases
1.1. We conduct procurement in a transparent manner, in accordance with the established procurement procedures of AB Kauno grūdai, in accordance with the principles of justice and conscience and the core values of respect, freedom and excellence. Kauno grūdai Procurement Service and those who carry out procurement are committed to sustainable value enhancement and continuous business growth, as well as to contributing to the achievement of the company's mission: "Better food for a better future", in general, through the management of procurement.
2. Our ambition
2.1. In order to develop and produce products of the highest quality, with every action aimed at contributing to the progression of business within the company, the Purchasing Office, Purchasers and other Purchasing Agents must continuously source the best and most economically viable products and raw materials from all possible global purchasing markets, providing strong competition to other individuals and organisations purchasing similar products.
3. Compliance
3.1. Compliance with legislation and standards. The activities of the Procurement Service, Purchasers and other persons carrying out procurement in AB Kauno grūdai comply with all existing legislation and norms and established rules.
3.2. Compliance with procurement ethics. The activities of the Procurement Service, the Purchasers and other persons involved in the procurement process are in compliance with:
3.2.1. social and corporate ethics and good procurement practices
3.2.2. provisions not to seek undue concessions or compensation from any supplier in the selection of suppliers, pricing decisions or any other procurement process;
3.2.3. no personal interests with any supplier;
3.2.4. attitudes not to solicit, demand and/or promise undue interests (money, goods, hospitality, services, etc.) by exercising potential influence over decision-making.
4. Relations with suppliers
4.1. Working relationships with suppliers. Through the activities of the Procurement Service, the Purchasers and other persons carrying out procurement, AB Kauno grūdai shall maintain a uniform, impartial and fair attitude towards suppliers and shall strive to establish working and trust-based relations (appropriate partnership) with them. By requiring our suppliers to provide quality products at the lowest possible price within a pre-agreed timeframe, we continuously cooperate with them to promote environmental ideas and socially responsible business. Valuing stable and strong partnerships, we expect our suppliers to cooperate in the long term, maintaining friendly and mutually beneficial relationships based on fair business principles.
4.2. Supplier evaluation. The Procurement Service of AB Kauno grūdai regularly carries out a fair, transparent, objective and reasoned evaluation of suppliers, thus aiming to maintain stable relationships with suppliers that meet the criteria of the highest technology, quality, price, supply capacity, management and social responsibility, and stability.
5. "Open door policy and equal competition
5.1. AB Kauno grūdai sincerely appreciates each and every company that wants to become our suppliers and partners, giving every company an impartial and fair opportunity to do so, regardless of nationality, region, size. Any company that for some reason does not become a partner is given a reason.
6. Confidentiality
6.1. The activities of the Procurement Service, the Purchasers and other persons carrying out the procurement process ensure the confidentiality of each of the suppliers, Kauno grūdai does not use any of its suppliers' confidential information obtained during certain (or any) procurement processes for publicity - except in cases where the transaction is in doubt (or at risk).
7. Green procurement
7.1. The activities of the Procurement Service, the Purchasers and other persons carrying out the purchases of Kauno grūdai comply with the existing environmental requirements and laws, and being a socially responsible company, we give priority to the purchase of products that have a lower ecological impact and/or are friendly to the environment.
8. Supporting local businesses
8.1. As part of a Lithuanian group of companies, we feel responsible for strengthening Lithuania's position in regional and international markets. Therefore, we will give preference to local businesses and local producers when making purchases and when we have equivalent offers. We will make a concerted effort to contribute financially and ideologically to improving the well-being of our compatriots.
